The introduction of the original carbon Dogma was followed by two years of careful analysis of the forces applied during riding. FEA (finite element analysis) validated the benefits in managing frame deflection derived from the Dogma's asymmetrical design, however the magicians at Pinarello knew in their hearts that they could do better. The Pinarello Dogma K Hydro incorporates the best in disc-brake frame technology into a 65HM1K Torayca carbon classics frameset which embodies the finest in Italian frame design and carries the precedent setting design of the Dogma 2 to the next level.
The increased rigidity offered by Torayca's 65HHM1K Nano-alloy carbon fiber allows Pinarello to retain the aerodynamic and asymetrical bennefits from the Dogma 65.1 Think 2 while delivering a bike that is stiffer, lighter and more responsive thani ts predecessor. A carefully engineered internal cable routing allows for at will selection of mechanical or electronic shifting systems with no penalty to the bikes aesthetic or aerodynamic profile.
Carefully engineered internal cable routing with interchangeable cable stops on the new Dogma K allows for you to easily choose between either mechanical or electronic shifting systems from Campagnolo, Shimano or SRAM, without any penalty to the bike's aesthetic or its aerodynamic profile.
Pinarello also addressed the aerodynamics and stiffness of the front end of the bike. The new Dogmas are fitted with a 1.5-inch lower headset bearing, which allows a larger diameter steerer tube at the fork crown resulting in a 19% boost in front end stiffness, more to predictable braking and a more precise steering. Another part of the fork redesign includes smoother, more aerodynamic fork legs, and a sculpted crown that integrates seamlessly into the reshaped down tube. The left and right sides of the bike bear different tube shapes as well as general tube sizes which are visually apparent in the top tube, the fork legs, and both seatstays and chainstays.
And, this version of the Dogma is disc-brake compatible. It features Pinarello's Onda HD fork which has been exhaustively designed to handle the unique stresses of a disc-brake system. On the rear triangle, Pinarello routed the of mounting for the brake lines onto the chainstay, rather than the seatstay. This Rear-Arm Disk (RAD) design allows the seatstays to maintain high levels of compliance, uninterrupted by the brake while the big non-drive chainstay tube provides a stronger overall braking platform, resulting in highly-responsive, powerful braking out back.
Complete with headset, seatpost and Italian bottom bracket, the Pinarello Dogma K Hydro Road Frameset is assembled and finished by hand in Italy and is available for 2015 in sizes 45, 48, 54, 55, 56, and 58cm, and it comes in the 825 (Black/red/white) color.
