Duende ("having duende") loosely means having soul, a heightened state of emotion, expression and authenticity, often connected with flamenco. The artistic and especially musical term was derived from the duende, a fairy or goblin-like creature in Spanish mythology. Given the correct artistic temperment, Duende can be found in any art form, including bicycle frames (surprised?).
The Pegoretti Duende is evolved from the discontinued Palosanto. Built from custom drawn Columbus "Spirit" tubing, it combines the Palosanto rear triangle with the Marcelo front and results in a kinder, gentler road bike suitable for calmer, lighter weight riders. Handmade along the Brenta River in Italy, it comes from Pegoretti Cicli with the carbon Falz fork (a Pegoretti design manufactured by Columbus) and a custom, oversized Chris King D11 headset.
