  • Bad tires
  • Heavy

Best Uses

Comments:

its an excellent bike to start off with for the price. it is very heavy for a road bike though. but that will only make you stronger...it comes with horrible tires when you buy it though. I would reccomend replacing them right away unless you want to empty your wallet buying co2 cartridges and tubes every week. Ive done triathlons with it...ive done century rides with it...ive gone on rides like ragbrai and goba on it and it has never failed me (except the tires). Good price...I reccomend it for a starter.

Really enjoy my bike. Great price for a quality brand road bike. Sure there's better, but can't justify price jump for marginal difference for a casual cyclist. Overall, feels like a million dollars when I ride!

I didn't ride this bike until It's purchase. I gotta tell ya never had I owned a bike that rides this smoothly. I use it almost all day! To work, to school, I take it on the train and due to its light weight, I can pretty much manuever on and off it. I love this bike and I tell all my frieds about it....they can call me crazy but it was a hell of a deal!

In all fairness, I am a mountain biker. I wanted an entry level road bike to ride at night after work and when I can't make it to the woods. Mostly for fitness. I tested a few different models and this is great so far (although, as I said, I don't much to compare it to). Additionally, was "fitted" and met the requirements for a women's specific frame. However, none of those frames were comfortable for me despite the fact that they SHOULD have been so don't be afraid to try "mens"models. It's light and responsive and I have taken a few rides of around 10 miles each and it seems to be wearing in nicely. I upgraded the pedals to the new Shimano 105's and it seems to be a good fit. The shifting seems to be great, smooth and responsive, especially for being a lower level component group. I am enduring the mens saddle but perhaps I may change that out soon. My only complaint is that the brakes don't seem to work all that well. They seem flimsy. Over all, so far I am very pleased.

I have a 2006 model with over 4000 miles on it. The only difference is that it has 8 cogs instad of 9 on the newer. It is my first road bike, and although it is supposed to be an entry level, it does everying well and is very comfortable. I chose it over the equivalent Trek because it had better components, i.e, front deraileur, saddle and handle bar. It also fit better as the handle bars were widder. I don't ride in the drops much, so the Sora shifters suit me just fine. The only problem I've had with it were the composit pedals that broke and numerous broken spokes on the rear wheel. Service from Spokes Etc., in Ashburn was outstanding - the replaced the pedals with better ones (although I eventually upgraded to clipless) and totally re-build the rear wheel. You just can't go wrong with this bike, unless you really want to spend more.

My opinion is based on the 06' model. I love the bike, and have rode it over 2500 miles. The components are getting worn out but they have been great to me up to this point. I would definatly recomend this bike!
