Established in 1946, our interest in Shimano begins in 1973 with the introduction of Dura Ace. Since then Shimano has been responisble for one innovation after another: 7-speed freewheels, indexed shifting, integrated brake/shift levers, eight and nine speed drive trains, and modern non-tapered bottom brackets to name a few. In the process Shimano has come to dominate nearly 50% of the world wide market for bicycle parts and accessories with high quality, high value and innovative products which we, at Lakeside Bicycles, are proud to carry and maintain.
