The Elio, named after the first child of Pegoretti artisan Leonardo, is a high-performance road bike in the finest Italian tradition. Its arrival heralds a reinterpretation of the Pegoretti design language, and, for the first time on a Pegoretti, internal cabling routing and the ability to run an integrated cockpit.

The frame evolved over several months, from first inspiration to final design, each step marked and made by hand at the Bottega in Verona, Italy.  As the design progressed the Bottega remained faithful to Dario’s vision as they developed its Columbus XCR stainless steel tubing profiles, tapering lines, shape, style and visceral sense of speed.

Pietro, the Master of the Pegoretti workshop, says that “when you use your hands to work steel, you seek and find balance, a sensation you’ll notice from the first turn of the cranks”.  With a slightly lower center of gravity than other Pegoretti models, Elio rides with a close and confident connection to the road tempt you to take the next corner a bit deeper and faster, to sprint just a bit harder as you are overwhelmed by the shear joy imparted by added performance on top of Pegoretti’s already legendary ride,  perhaps coaxing you to do the whole ride again.

Throughout the frame the design sports sizing subtleties that may not be immediately obvious. Elio’s top tube tapers from 35mm, where it meets the head tube, to 31.7mm at the seat tube. The down tube diameter increases from 39mm to 42mm, the biggest yet on a Pegoretti. And the head tube measures 56mm to accommodate internal routing. Up front, the Italian made carbon fibre fork runs straight, aero-forward and stiff where it matters further enhancing the precision of the Elio’s ride.

Tyre clearance is up to 32mm to take advantage of new developments in tyre philosophy and design. Disc brakes, UDH compliance and electronic-exclusive groupset compatibility further proclaim that this is a new Pegoretti.

We offer the Elio as a standard geometry frameset or you can custom order in the geometry of your choice.  And ah, the finish! Available in any of the currently mystically beautiful available color schemes including at extra cost Panel, Ciavete or (though God knows why you would) solid colors. There are multiple cockpit solutions, from a Chris King headset and Enve cockpit pairing, to an all-Deda or Columbus setup, or, for the tinkerers, any stem with a 25mm internal diameter and their choice of internal routing-compliant bar.We would be happy to consult with you about a complete bike or a parts package to compliment your Pegoretti frameset. The Elio comes with a Columbus Carbon Aero fork. It uses a 31.6 seatpost and comes with a custom, Pegoretti designed derailleur clamp. The bottom bracket is English threaded.
